Simon Clifford is a strategic thought leader focusing on security and public protection, with a background in corporate and fast growth startups, he has been a leading strategic voice in UK Policing, focused on better collaborative working between agencies and enhancing capabilities through digital means. As Director of Digital and data working across UK Policing, he led strategy and innovation work, responsible for “Setting the Direction” where he reformed the national technology and data standards portfolio and led the introduction of AI automation to support crime investigation and pioneered Cyber reporting & investigation capabilities across UK Policing (Cyber Alarm). 

Chairing the Cabinet Office Resilience board, he introduced crowdsourced geo-spacial data, drawing data from 3,000,000 users, UK wide to a multi-agency community, accelerating the response of life saving emergency services, a world first. 

He founded Cliff42 in 2021 to continue this work across the public sector, working nationally and internationally using segment situational awareness and disruptive approaches that deliver transformational capability to protect the public and pursue criminality.
